The Visual & Performing Arts

The Visual and Performing Arts Department is and should be considered as a part of the academic performance, which is an essential part of every child’s educational experience. It is by nature an element in life that connects many experiences and concepts.  Music dance, movement and art are aesthetic, aural, visual and kinesthetic which present opportunities for positive social and emotional growth.

The Arts offer our students the best of theory, practice and performance.

The arts carries a distinctive body of knowledge, with it’s own integrity, developed over centuries. In educating our children, we strive to develop each child’s potential to understand, express and create thereby offering universal access to knowledge that would otherwise be available to only a privileged few. Every child has the right to experience what the arts have to offer.

At the Renaissance, the arts offer our students the best of theory, practice and performance. Students are taught by highly qualified teachers who are also professional musicians, artists and athletes in their own right. Students at the Renaissance are required to perform in professional settings such as concerts, plays, recitals and musicals. The Arts program provides many opportunities for students and staff to perform together and throughout the year.

The Arts Program boasts The Voices of Renaissance, The Young Voices of Renaissance and the Renaissance Dance Troupe. The Arts Team has also produced the Broadway show, The Wiz and original plays such as, The Harlem Renaissance, That Sixties and Seventies and Showtime at the Apollo, Renaissance Style!
