New England Eye – Renaissance Vision Center

New England Eye Care Center

The on-site Vision Center screens each student annually and provides comprehensive eye exams and vision correction therapy and services for students, families, and staff. Opened in 2007 in partnership with New England Eye Institute, the Vision Center has grown each year as families have become more aware of the services available. To date (June 2009), the Vision Center has provided exams to over 200 students, provided glasses for 85 Boston Renaissance students, and provided comprehensive vision therapy for 5 students. Center staff works side by side with teachers and related service providers to ensure that vision problems are not a barrier to a student’s access to education. Tufts Community Dental Program – Renaissance Dental Clinic

Tufts Dental Program

Our on-site dental clinic screens each student annually and provides teeth cleaning, dental exams, fillings, fluoride treatments, sealants and referrals. After years of a partnership providing off-site dental care for a limited number of students, Boston Renaissance’s on-site dental clinic opened in 2007. In the first pilot year, the clinic served students in grades PreK and K2. In 2008, services were extended to students in grades PreK to 2. Beginning in September 2009, the dental clinic, in partnership with the Tufts Community Dental Program and Commonwealth Mobile Oral Health Services, will have regular office hours, 2 days a week, throughout the school year to serve the entire school, bringing dental care to students in grades PreK to 6.
