What is a sTem Fair Project?
A sTem Fair project is a technology-rich, standards-based, student-created artifact of 21st century learning at the Boston Renaissance Charter Public School.
A sTem Fair project…
- must have a subject and a technology focus:
- S: Science, Social Studies, Special Education or Specialty
- T: Technology is integrated into the project and is aligned with the Technology Scope and Sequence*
- E: ELA, or Engineering
- M: Math or Mandarin
- must address the subject’s AIM and the technology AIM
- must be produced and presented by students
*the Technology Scope and Sequence at BRCPS distributes all K-6 Massachusetts Technology Standards and Frameworks across grades K through 6.
What is 21st century learning? To compete in the global workforce, students must be well educated in science, technology, engineering and mathematics subject matter, but they must also develop the skills to analyze, learn and explore. These are:*
- Creativity and Innovation
- Communication and Collaboration
- Research and Information Fluency
- Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Decision Making
- Digital Citizenship
- Technology Operations and Concepts
